Duragloss, a 40 year old company located in North Carolina, developed a Ceramic Polymer polish coating called NanoGlass.
Owner of the company has a PHD in chemistry so you can be confident that Duragloss provides great products that are very effective, fairly priced and easy to use. NanoGlass has no harmful solvents, and does not smell bad, as many ceramic coatings do.
Duragloss products are made in the USA. Many other products on the market today are not.
I personally don’t think it is necessary to pay a professional shop $500-$3,000 to apply a ceramic sealant, when you can easily DIY and obtain VERY similar results to protect your paint and provide an excellent high gloss, very long lasting “Wet Look” shine.
NanoGlass protects: Paint, Pano Roof, Headlights, Tail Lights, Clear Film Wrapped Areas, Wheels and Metal Trim.
NanoGlass protects paint from Acid Rain, UV rays, Salt and Pollutants.
Resistant to Acid and Alkali Washing
Slick, Extreme Gloss and Water Beading
Safe and Effective on all non-porous surfaces, such as paint, metal trim, glass, wheels, and plastic and glossy film wrapped areas.
Easy wipe on walk away hand application. (No machine buffing)
The tremendous molecular bonding of NanoGlass provides maximum durability.
When properly maintained, washing your car when needed, and using NanoGlass Quick Detailer in between car washes; you can expect the shine to last 2 or more years.
(Household application example: Granite counter tops)
Great for Marine and Motorcycle use.
First wash and dry your car. Recommend using Duragloss Squeaky Clean Surface Prep product to remove previously applied wax or polish. (Note do not apply Squeaky Clean to rubber bumpers, textured plastic body trim or textured fender flares.) Run your finger tips across your paint. If you can feel (and hear) specs of contamination, use clay bar with lubricant to remove them. If you have swirl marks and fine scratches, remove with Duragloss 671 Swirl Mark Remover, using an orbital buffer or Porter-Cable and polishing pad at medium speed – Or take your car to a pro detailing shop and ask them to remove swirls and scratches. After your paint is as clean, smooth and corrected as you can make it, you are ready to apply NanoGlass.
APPLICATION OF NANOGLASS:
NanoGlass is very easy to use. Onto a cool surface, not in direct sunlight, simply spray NanoGlass onto the applicator pad, then wipe on a thin even coat in a multi-directional manner ie clockwise, counter clockwise, back and forth, up and down, onto a 2×2 foot area until dry and the residue has evaporated. Only apply by hand. Do not use a buffer.
After you have applied NanoGlass onto one section, such as a hood, fender or door, hand buff that section with a microfiber towel to make sure you have no streaks. If you wait longer to hand buff, streaks will be harder to remove. If you have streaks, you are applying too much product.
Maintain your high gloss finish by washing your car when needed with Duragloss 901 shampoo, and by using NanoGlass Quick Detailer #20113 in between car washes to remove light dust and bird droppings etc. The Quick Detailer not only cleans, but also adds gloss with each use. You can also use the Quick Detailer after you have washed and dried your car. Wipe on with one cloth, hand buff with a second cloth. Works nicely on glass after it has been cleaned, ideally with DuraGloss BRC-46, which is available on this website.
